U.P. Home Health & Hospice Celebrates Rededication of the U.P. Hospice Serenity Garden
MARQUETTE, MI — Lasco employees Dustin and Paul were pleased to attend the rededication of the U.P. Hospice Serenity Garden (pictured right). The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in partnership with U.P. Home Health & Hospice, the U.P. Hospice Foundation, and the Lake Superior Community Partnership on Monday, July 28, 2025. The event took place at the Hospice Serenity Garden, located at the entrance of Presque Isle Park in Marquette.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, community members, volunteers, business leaders, and local officials gathered for a networking and open-house-style “Business on Lunch” event, which included refreshments and a business card drawing for prizes.
The U.P. Hospice Serenity Garden is a serene space created to honor those who have passed while receiving hospice care and to provide a place of peace and reflection for their loved ones and the community. Nestled just past the iconic entrance arch to Presque Isle, the garden offers a tranquil environment filled with blooms that symbolize hope and renewal, along with a bench and stone structure for quiet contemplation. A dedicated plaque within the garden serves as a heartfelt reminder of the lives touched by hospice care.
“This space represents the heart of what we do,” said Kori Bjorne from U.P. Home Health & Hospice. “It’s a beautiful and lasting tribute to the people we’ve cared for and the loved ones who continue to carry their memories forward.”
The recent updates to the garden were made possible through the support of the U.P. Hospice Foundation, the generosity of community volunteers, and the expertise of Nagelkirk Gardens, who assisted with new plantings and design elements. For more information about U.P.
